MEDIATE is excited to announce the details of our panel taking place at the Soundwave ((7)) Biennial Preview Party and Fundraiser on June 25th 7-11pm. Moderated by Elia Vargas, this sound and architecture themed panel will feature Jason Kelly Johnson, founder of Future Cities Lab, sound artist Anna Friz, and designer Nathan John from Envelope A+D. MEDIATE’s Soundwave ((7)) Biennial Architecture pushes SF audience to reimagine their Cityscape. San Francisco’s landscape is shifting economically and rapidly. These palpable changes make Architecture a timely theme for the largest Bay Area experimental, sound-art festival. Soundwave pushes the boundaries of our auditory perception of spaces, language, and music, challenging the way we understand our surroundings. This summer, Soundwave ((7)) Architecture will take audiences on a citywide adventure highlighting the multitude of architecturally iconic museums, cathedrals and historic sites within San Francisco. MEDIATE ART GROUP is pleased to announce our Soundwave ((7)) Biennial Preview Party & Fundraiser! Join us Saturday, June 25th 7-11pm for this special preview experience in the name of supporting Soundwave ((7)) Architecture and the over 50 artists presenting in this years biennial! Experience a one-of-a-kind event, getting up close and personal with performing and exhibiting artists presenting their works-in-progress for the Soundwave ((7)) Biennial. Enjoy libations and hors d’oeuvres, available throughout the festivities. This event will feature a panel between artists, architects, and urban designers moderated by Elia Vargas on the topic of Sound and Architecture. Followed by exclusive Soundwave performances by Matthew Ganucheau and this years Buzz Award recipient Andrew Blanton. Celebrate with us as we end our evening with a live DJ and dance party! Read

MEDIATE Art Group is pleased to announce the addition of new staff and board members in 2016. We are very excited to welcome these experienced and talented art innovators to the MEDIATE team! Autumn Hays joins us this year as our new Managing Director. She brings a wealth of experience in performance art exhibition and festival management. Instigator Suki O’Kane is the latest member to join our Board of Directors. As a leading figure in the Bay Area arts and cultural network for over two decades, Suki brings a wealth of knowledge to help build MEDIATE’s organizational capacity and support our non-profit’s growth and sustainability. The Buzz Award was established in 2015 by MEDIATE Art Group to award promising Bay Area artists making a creative impact with their sound-related work. This award recognizes an emerging Bay Area artist making an impact in their particular sound/music field and have demonstrable great potential and commitment to performance and immersive art. The awardee’s commission will be featured as an anchor production in the upcoming Soundwave Biennial and receive a financial prize to help further their work.
