Christo Oropeza is a San Francisco native and artist working in multiple mediums, Christo has helped design and paint multiple murals in the city, including those at Mission Pie and at Tip Top Market on Turk street. He cofounded the Mission’s Incline Gallery with Brian Perrin in 2010 and continues expand the gallery’s presence today as co-director by facilitating outside curators, national and international exchanges and partnerships within community based organizations. He serves on the curatorial council of Acción Latina and was awarded recognition in the inaugural YBCA 100 in 2015.

Christo has curated Nochtlaca: Todos, todos, todos for Soundwave 9, a multidisciplinary program featuring artists San Cha, Persia, and Guillermo Galindo. Emphasizing the importance of sound as a vehicle for a shared cathartic experience during difficult times, performances will explore borders, walls (physical and psychological), and a disruptive “us vs. them” mentality.
